Tsipi Pines is a graduate of Tel Aviv University in Theater and Directing. She managed the Municipal Theater in Beer Sheva for 12 years and has served as Managing and Artistic Director of the Beit Lessin Theater since 1994. She has directed some 20 plays at the Theater for Children and Youth, the Beer Sheva Theater and Beit Lessin Theater.
She also taught and led workshops in writing and directing for graduate students of theater at Tel Aviv University, for several years. She has taught acting at the Beit Zvi School of Stage Arts since 1981, and in addition, teaches at the Yoram Levinstein Acting Studio.
She recently led workshops for British actors in the Actors’ Training Centre in London.
Tsipi Pines has participated in many study activities abroad, including a conference of female playwrights and directors in the Philippines, under the auspices of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs; a conference on the Middle East and culture in London; a study tour of American theater, as part of the American Department of State’s international program, and a study tour of French theaters under the auspices of the French Embassy; a course in children’s and youth theater in Germany; as well as a course at the National Theatre and the Royal Shakespeare Company in England.
